Kids Fly Free Travel Deal!

If you have kids and are planning a family trip, this deal is for you. A little-known airline dropped a new deal on Monday stating that they are now offering “Kids Fly Free” in addition to its already low prices.

“Flying Frontier makes it easy to get great travel deals for your family, and we’re making it even easier for your flock to fly by letting Kids Fly Free. FREE. And we aren’t just talking about the small-enough-to-sit-on-your-lap kids. We’re including the tall-enough-to-ride-the-big-rides kids, the mom-I’m-not-a-baby-anymore kids, or the oh-my-gosh-they’re-almost-driving kids.” stated in Frontiers’ Kids Fly Free Campaign.

Of course, there is fine print and I’m spilling the beans. You’re in luck if your child or children are younger than 14 years old, but here’s the catch one child fly free per adult fare and you must join Frontier’s “Discount Den” member fare club. Don’t be discouraged, when you do the math the membership fees work out to less than an average round trip ticket so It’s totally worth the $59.99 yearly membership fee.

In addition, check to make sure this deal applies to the dates you are planning to travel. More than likely you will be flying during the week because this offer is tailored to specific days that does not seem to include weekends. So, kudos to you if this deal applies to your lifestyle!

Book that flight and packs those backs because kids we are going on an adventure!

Movie Night?

Drive-In Theatres Are A Great Option

Drive-In movies have been around since 1915 when the first known drive-in theatre was opened in Las Cruces, New Mexico, namely ” Theatre de Guadalupe”.  The drive-in theatre became popular in the late 1950s and early 1960s, with around 4,000 drive-ins across the United States. There are approximately 348 drive-ins in the U.S.

There seems to be a misconception and lack of awareness of drive-ins which has led to a decline in the number of drive-ins open around the world. However, despite the decline in the number of drive-ins operating, the ones that are still open have people flooding in to watch movies. Have you seen the long lines at your local drive-in? Well, drive-in typically offers the latest movies on opening night and beyond has offered by their pricier counterparts (Regal and AMC Cinemas).

Regular movie ticket prices average at $11.65 per adults, $8.68 per senior and $8.47 per child plus tax. Not to mention ticket prices are always on the rise, and special effects like 3D or Imax cost you more. This is why most people opt to stay home to “Netflix and chill,” but really how many new options can you find on Netflix? Its good to enjoy different scenery once in a while. Being outdoors makes a difference and can refresh the body and mind.

In contrast, drive-in ticket prices are reasonably lower. The Thunderbird Drive-in Theatres price tickets at $7 per adult, $2 per child (5-11), and children up to four years old get free admission. The savings are profound and prices haven’t changed for years now.  Furthermore, an additional advantage of going to drive-ins versus a regular movie theatre is that you get to sit in the comfort of your car or lawn chair instead of a nasty chair God knows who has sat in… Eww!

In addition, you can position your car in the best view by dropping the top or backing up your jeep. The next best thing is you can gauge the audio of the movie on your car’s radio or your phone for your convenience. Another great perk is that you don’t have to stand in long lines for snacks if you don’t want to, in that, there are carts that will drive up to serve you a variety of delicious treats.

Moreover, a drive-in theatre is not just for couples date nights but great for carrying young children or indulging in a movie by yourself. Being a mom, I realized it’s difficult and annoying to bring young children to a regular theatre but found reassurance in taking my daughter to drive-in theatres where it is less likely for her antics to disturb other moviegoers. My entire family enjoys our frequent outings to our local drive-in theatre and I recommend to experience it at least once. I’m heading to the drive-in this weekend to see Crazy Rich Asians!

There are optional showtimes and movie selections for your choosing, so next time if you are looking for a more inexpensive and relaxing movie night check out your local drive-in theatre.

That’s Good News!

How to enjoy life at the right price

Often times we put off that long needed vacation, upgrading our wardrobe or even just enjoying our weekend. What if I told you, you can afford it? Well here are the details to help you create a great budget. There is no need to feel defeated before you even try.

  1. Start by looking for deals –  while planning your getaway search for those flash sales or offseason deals.  You can sign up to get alerts from your dream destinations so you have promo codes coming into your inbox. Furthermore,  by searching the internet for deals it shows your interest in a destination and triggers the algorithm to “pop up” notifications for coupons or deals when available.
  2. Coupon sites – never say never! I became obsessed with couponing after my mother showed me how to save while buying quality products, instead of just buying cheap things. Sites like Groupon, coupon cabin, BeFrugal, and CheapOair provide great deals on shopping, travel, and entertainment. This includes popular attractions, car rentals, and luxury hotels.
  3. Cash Back Deals – these are my all-around favorite because whether you get a discount or pay full price you will still get a percentage of your purchase back. Don’t forget to sign up for your credit card cash back deals so you will be making money while spending it. Also, one popular trusted site for cash back deals is  On ebates, you not only earn cash back by shopping online but also in stores because you can link your accounts. Even better, they deposit your funds straight to your account or mail it if you prefer. Choices are always a good thing!
  4. Rebates – these are another type of cash back that you can get without signing up for membership. For example, buy items in bulk is one way to gain rebates from company’s because they want to offer you an incentive t be a repeat customer and are usually offered by large corporations.
  5. Destination sites – check state sites and attraction sites for deals. Believe it or not, city sites often advertise promo codes or coupon deals to promote tourism in that area. Attraction sites like Disney World and Universal Studios often have off-season sales for an extensive period of time. You can browse these sites for deals or sign up for email notifications.
  6. Loyalty Programs – these are usually free and can save you major bucks especially for the hotel expense. So next time when you stay at a hotel and they offer you a membership, take it! It’s free and you will earn points you can use later for a free night or more.

Last but not least, pay attention to those email notifications for savings!
